Sony changes plans and has different gifts for everybody

Earlier this month, Sony confirmed the launch of Skype on PSP, which was set for a late-January release in Japan, but things have changed a little bit. Also, on the other hand, Sony released a few months ago the Ceramic White PlayStation 3 on the Japanese market, and the Americans and Europeans got a little jealous. No need for that anymore, since the giants decided to release the white PS3 in North America, too. Some busy times for Sony, we might say!

First of all, the Skype PSP had to be delayed since some of the microphone's components failed to meet Skype's expectations, so the release had to be postponed - with no new date announced. The strange thing is that the European and the U.S. launch date remains the same and it will coincide with the January firmware upgrade, Kotaku says. And this thing makes us wonder: isn't the PSP console the same? Which further means... if there are peripheral problems in Japan, couldn't we say the same thing about the U.S. and Europe? Well, apparently not - Sony or Skype wouldn't risk to release an "unfinished job". Everybody knows that people get really upset if things like that happen (see the Guitar Hero mono-mess).

On the other hand, Sony's PS3 is doing well, especially after last December that saw the gaming console recording the strongest sales in the US: almost 800,000 pieces. So, they want to keep it up and, therefore, they are preparing the launch of the White Playstation 3 in North America, according to some filings at the Federal Communications Commission, via gameindustry.biz. Even though no details are known at the moment, it should be noted that the Japanese release brought to the buyers a DualShock 3 controller as well, for a JPY 39,980 (about $330). Not to mention the fact that it really looks cool.

So, as you can see, plans change, stuff happens, life is tough. You should know that, just in case you plan to become a huge industry mogul in the next couple of years.
