A little advice on behalf of everyone who saw it: keep the volume down!

What do you know, the much awaited sequel to SEGA's NIGHTS has gotten its first trailer. Gameplay looks as expected, graphics too (although the trailer itself isn't of the highest quality), but the music... Bleah! It's the definition of the word "dreadful." I mean, had we been living in the '80s, yeah, but given that nowadays' kids are anything but sensitive, NIGHTS might just suck from the start, solely because of the music. Just watch it and see... better yet, hear for yourselves.

Of course we can all agree that this is just the trailer's song, but it clearly shows what their SEGA's and Nintendo's intentions are with the game. So if the storyline and gameplay objectives are anything like the music creating the one-of-a-kind-atmosphere in the trailer, then NIGHTS is doomed.

The game sure sounded so promising before this, didn't it? When the first rumors of NIGHTS getting its sequel on the Wii emerged, gaming sites all over the world were on fire. Then SEGA rolled out some screens depicting the game's main character and stages and overall, the game looked pretty darn good.

Here's what Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc, said when NIGHTS: Journey of Dreams was confirmed for the Wii: "We plan to deliver a gameplay experience never before seen on the Wii with NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. The game takes full advantage of the unique Wii Remote controller enabling gamers to guide NiGHTS through spectacularly designed dream worlds intertwined with a story about hope and courage."

And we trust that the game will indeed deliver a unique gameplay experience using the Wii Remote's motion sensitive functionality but do something about the music guys! The game's trailer (courtesy of GameTrailers.com) makes you feel like you're watching an old musical or something like that. The trailer is just too sensitive and optimistic if you ask us. What do you think?
