The information for sales of both hardware and software on the Japanese market compiled by Media Create has shown the PlayStation Portable from Sony double its sales numbers in one week just as Call of Duty: Black Ops has managed to take first place when it comes to video games.

The PlayStation Portable handheld from Sony has managed to reach 96,601 units in sales over a seven day period, going up quite spectacularly from 40,328 during the previous week.

The PlayStation 3, also from Sony but in the home console form, sold 29,058 devices during the week in order to regain the second spot in the hardware chart, seeing an increase of about 8,000 units from the previous tracked period.

The Nintendo Wii, which was last week boosted to 39,308 units because of the release of an anniversary linked to Mario, is down to 27,851 and has slipped down to third place again.

The DSi LL, the version with a bigger screen, stands in fourth place, with sales going up to 21,836 units, followed by the normal DSi, which managed to sell 20,550 devices.

The Xbox 360 reached sales of 7,083, boosted by the release of Kinect, its motion tracking system, standing in front of the DS Lite, the PSP Go and the PS2.

The first person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops, from developer Treyarch and publisher Activision Blizzard worldwide and Square Enix in Japan, has taken the first spot in the video game sales chart, with sales of 128,922 in its first week on sale in Japan.

Gamers chose to play the blockbuster on the PlayStation 3, which got a special subtitled version.

Second place went to Super Fossil Fighter, a title created for the Nintendo DS, which managed to sell 42,829 copies moved to gamers while third place has been recaptured by Pokemon Black and White, from Nintendo and also for the DS, with sales of 39,883.

Super Mario Collection Special Pack for the Wii has taken fourth place with Tactics Ogre for the PSP in fifth.

The following five places are occupied by: Winning Eleven 2011, Call of Duty Black Ops Subtitled Version for the Xbox 360, Tongari Boushi to Mahou to Omise, Winning Eleven 2011 for the PS3 and Record of Agarest War 2.
