But the reality is, the Wii is currently kicking the PS3's ass bigtime

In a somewhat strange interview, Jack Tretton, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment of America, compares the rivals' consoles (Nintendo's Wii and Microsoft's Xbox 360) with bad food. One doesn't know what to think anymore. Was it meant to be funny...? Probably yes, but Tretton might have been a little harsh this time.

I am able to share this great piece of news with you, courtesy of Tech.co.uk, who quotes Tretton in the following manner: "I think the PS3 is the Surf 'n' Turf," he said. "You want the lobster and steak and you're going to give yourself the treat of getting the best thing on the menu.

"The PS2 is your favourite burger restaurant -- you go there for comfort food and it's just always good and is a good value."

"[As for the other two consoles], one is a lollipop, and I'm too old for lollipops," he said according to the site, "rubbishing the Nintendo Wii as a children's console." Which, of course isn't far from the truth, but not exactly accurate either.

What do you think Microsoft's Xbox is? Food poisoning - "The other one [Xbox 360] I get sick from once in a while because the cook isn't always reliable."

Just so everyone's on the same level here, the Wii is currently kicking the PS3's ass by 6 to 1 in terms of Japanese sales figures - something that says a lot about Sony's strategy of approaching the gaming market this generation. Simply put, the PS3 is better than both its rivals in terms of reliability, processing power and so on. But everyone knows (and especially electronics giants such as Sony) that it's which one sells better that counts, so until the PS3 starts moving, Sony's officials should really just keep a low profile and hope for the best.

All I can see in this interview is harshness and overconfidence (which is not real, but just for show off). Tretton's funny though, I have to admit.
