14 DAY TRIAL // Infamous 2, one of the big upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive games, has just received some special details, pertaining to the new morality system as well as some of the companions that will be included in the new game.
The original Infamous title really surprised a lot of people, as it allowed players to wield electricity-based superpowers based on their own desire, choosing in specific "karma moments" if they want to do good and help the rest of the world, or just look out for themselves and their own interests.
Now, with Infamous 2, development studio Sucker Punch is bringing back that choice system, but this time, it's banking on the morality of your actions as a whole, not just in specific moments.
In the new game, protagonist Cole McGrath will meet two very special ladies, which will influence his actions in very different ways.
"Your conscience comes into play with the introduction of Kuo and Nix, two NPC characters. Kuo is a NSA agent working to help Cole defeat the Beast. Nix is a New Marais native that grew up in the swamps around New Marias, whose hatred for Bertrand stems from witnessing him kill her family. She is your hedonistic guide that coaxes Cole into not thinking about the consequences of his actions," revealed Sucker Punch's Ken Schramm on the PlayStation Blog.
"There will be multiple crossroads where Cole will decide to follow Kuo’s lead or give into Nix’s temptations. Your choices will directly affect the gameplay by permanently remaining in the world. "
"Whatever path you choose, remember in inFAMOUS 2 you can always change your mind for it’s never too late to look for redemption or to say “Hell with it” and become selfish."
In certain missions Cole will be presented with two different methods of resolving them, either going for a quick and bloody one, supported by Nix, or a more complicated yet more rewarding one, from Kuo.
Sucker Punch also issued a series of screenshots from Infamous 2, depicting both Cole and the ladies that will shape his actions in the city of New Marais, which you can check out below.
