On Tuesday, Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has added a new feature to the Android Market, the application portal for devices running under its mobile operating system, namely In-app Billing.

Last week, the company announced that developers could test the feature in the applications they submit to their developer account.

However, the apps could not be published in the Market at that time, but Google has finally allowed for that to happen now.

“Today, we're pleased to announce the launch of Android Market In-app Billing to developers and users. As an Android developer, you will now be able to publish apps that use In-app Billing and your users can make purchases from within your apps,” Eric Chu, Android Developer Ecosystem, notes in a blog post.

With the launch of this feature, application developers are offered more ways in which they can monetize new billing models, such as try-and-buy, virtual goods, upgrades, and other models.

Along with the availability of this feature, Google also announced the release of a series of applications and games for Android devices that already come with it.

The list would include Tap Tap Revenge by Disney Mobile; Comics by ComiXology; Gun Bros, Deer Hunter Challenge HD, and WSOP3 by Glu Mobile; and Dungeon Defenders: FW Deluxe by Trendy Entertainment.

App builders interested in trying out the new billing model should head over to the Android Developers website, where they would find all of the necessary documentation on the matter.

Moreover, Google provides them with sample applications, so that they could make a better idea of what the implementation of the service is all about.

Developers would also have to learn how to set up in-app product lists in Android Market, not to mention that they would need to test their software, and to make sure that the app packs all of the needed security features.
