Samsung's family of bada phones was expanded recently with the addition of not one or two handsets, but with the launch of three new smartphones, namely the Samsung Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y, all of which were brought at this year's IFA show in Berlin.

Softpedia took the time to play with all these devices for a while and already offered you hands-on photos and video of Wave 3, and now it is the time to have a better look at the other two bada phones from Samsung, namely Wave M and Wave Y.

Although not as high-end as the Wave 3 smartphone, these two devices still have to offer great features and performance capabilities, just as Samsung promised for its bada handsets.

The Wave M, for example, is the largest of the two, featuring a 3.65-inch TFT display that can deliver an HVGA (320 x 480 pixel) resolution, and an application processor clocked in at a little over 800MHz.

As for the Wave Y, it was packed with a 3.2-inch touchscreen display that can deliver the same HVGA (320 x 480 pixel) resolution as the Wave M, and with the same CPU as its bigger brother, it seems.

On the back, the new Wave M smartphone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, capable of recording videos, and complemented by a VGA camera on the front.

The camera on Wave Y is of only 2 megapixels, though it does offer video recording too. However, no front facing camera was packed with this device.

Most of the other specifications of these devices are the same, such as the 2GB of internal memory that Samsung packed them with, or the microSD card slots they feature, which can offer support for expanding the storage space.

Both of them sport Wi-Fi b/g/n and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi Direct, and NFC (Near Field Communication). However, the batteries inside them are different, as the Wave M sports a 1350 mAh one, while the Wave Y packs a 1200 mAh battery.

Both the Wave M and the Wave Y run under Samsung's new bada 2.0 operating system, and offer support for Samsung's Social Hub and for the ChatON service from the South Korean mobile phone maker.
