Casting frenzy for Finnick Odair in “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” has begun

A couple of days ago, Robert Pattinson's name popped up in a “Hunger Games” conversation, with some reports saying he'd be playing Finnick Odair in the upcoming sequel “Catching Fire.” He isn't – but who is, then?

As of now, three leading men are linked to the role, which is being described as a character who is very difficult to cast.

Finnick Odair, readers must know, is both incredibly handsome and smug / imposing. He's more than a pretty face, which means the actor playing him must also have the right attitude.

Garrett Hedlund of “TRON: Legacy,” Taylor Kitsch of “John Carter” and Armie Hammer of “Mirror Mirror” are all reportedly considered for the part – and all are very bad choices, voices online say.

Hedlund is too rough around the edges, Kitsch is too unrefined, while Hammer is simply too handsome for the party.

Other names are also being thrown in the conversation: Pattinson's stays even though he personally denied being involved in the project.

Xavier Samuel, also of “Twilight” fame, apparently has the perfect amount of pretty and mean to pull it off. We'd agree, but we're not sure he also has the experience and / or talent for it.

A young Jude Law would be perfect, if only we had a time machine.

With all this to consider, who do you think would be a perfect Finnick? Let us know in the comments section below.
