Motorola played its best cards at the New York press conference where it released the RAZR2 and Rokr Z6 phone models. They both bring significant innovations when it comes to the phone performances and features that Motorola intends on maintaining at the highest standards.

Although the spotlight has been cast mostly on the RAZR2 phone model, the Rokr Z6 also features important characteristics, worthy of interest. Some people have even considered that this is actually the "media monster" phone that Motorola announced a few days ago for launch. The reason for this is that the phone offers a wide range of possibilities when it comes to handling media content.

Most important, Rokr Z6 is the first Linux/Java based phone that Motorola will launch at a global level. Furthermore, it offers high quality solutions for providing Multimedia Entertainment within a variety of options. For this, Chris White, senior director, Mobile Devices Multimedia Entertainment at Motorola emphasizes that "These innovative devices are packed with the features mobile consumers demand today, including easy PC synching and access to hundreds of music stores." This is why "The new ROKR music handsets are a true convergence of the MP3 player and mobile phone".

Rokr Z6 is a slider made especially for entertainment, as it has integrated Windows Media Player 11 which makes it capable of supporting a large number of audio file types as well as high quality video playback. That opens the door to many possibilities and a large storing space proves to be necessary in such conditions. Rokr Z6 lacks such a feature, but compensates it by integrating a 2 GB removable MicroSD memory card slot, especially for more media storage capacity. Furthermore, the phone uses an USB 2.0 for high speed transfers and data access.

No time to waste, as Motorola Rokr Z6 is expected to be available starting this month.
