Disney Interactive Studios enjoys the success its popular High School Musical series have, so they decided to release another title for the Nintendo DS consoles and they will name it High School Musical: Work This Out. The title will be released in April 2008 and it promises to be as addicting as the others.

The game, described as an all new musical adventure title, features storylines extended beyond High School Musical 2 and it features all the 10 songs from the movie - and using the DS console the game owners can listen to the songs anytime they feel like and, why not, sing them together with their idols.

"We intend to use [a multi-platform approach] to do exactly what we did in the music business to our video games business, but on a much larger scale," Disney's Bob Iger reportedly told investors before the launch of the game in November 2007, describing video games as "another promising creative engine for Disney."

Gamers can play as High School Musical characters Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad and Taylor, to explore the Lava Springs Resort from High School Musical 2. And the success of the franchise proves that gamers really want to play one of these characters, too, either to embark on adventures with the cast or sing the songs they love.

"This new experience once again underscores Disney's passion to provide fans with unparalleled entertainment as they wait for High School Musical 3 to arrive, which will also usher in a new generation of video games this holiday season," said senior VP of global marketing at Disney Interactive Studios Craig Relyea.

Disney has shipped 3.8 million units of HSM games worldwide, but having in mind the phenomena this entire franchise is starting to be, the numbers could get even bigger during this year.
