Heidi Montag is set to prove she has what it takes to make it as a singer – as a pop star, to be more exact. After releasing a first album earlier this year and failing to make it sell, the reality star is giving her music career another go. Moreover, she’s proud to be the first one to break the news and have the cat out of the bag, on her Twitter page.

As fans and gossip lovers would know, Heidi often uses Twitter as the official channel for updates and news, regarding both her career in television and personal life. Just recently, she tweeted her intention of seeking divorce from Spencer Pratt, though she did not put it exactly in so many words. Now, she’s using the same channel to announce that she’s back in the studio, working on a new single, which will see the light of day at a date yet to be made public.

“Heading into the music studio recording my new single! Steve Morales my music producer moves into my house tomorrow to make my summer album!” Heidi tweeted very excited. As noted above, she did not say anything about when said single would be coming out or whether it would also be included on an album. However, since she reportedly went bankrupt financing the “Superficial” debut album, chances are she’ll either be looking for a sponsor or taking her time in investing her own money in another music project.

At the beginning of the year, before “Superficial” came out, Montag was telling the media that, with it, she was aiming to top Michael Jackson’s legendary “Thriller.” In fact, she was saying, this was the main reason why she chose to invest nearly $2 million of her own money into the album: a material that took over 3 years to complete and put out and which barely moved 1,000 copies in its first week, performing even worse that Kevin Federline’s debut album.

“I did it [recorded the album] independently. If you look back at the superstars throughout history it used to take that long to put albums together. Now it’s more manufactured. I really wanted to take my time, and every song means so much to me. And every song was a true journey. I had to track down the songs myself, because it was just Spencer and I doing it independently. We really took our time with every single process, because we wanted it to be the highest quality possible. I wanted it to be back to the ‘Thriller days,’ to that kind of sound. It’s timeless music, so whenever it comes out was the right timing,” Heidi said, as we also reported at the time.
