Halo 4 has received a brand new matchmaking update for its Infinity multiplayer mode, bringing long awaited tweaks for the game's various weapons, not to mention plenty of overall changes to the online experience.

Halo 4 has been on the receiving end of many periodic matchmaking updates, which are designed by the team at 343 Industries to enhance the online experience and keep things fair and balanced.

Now, a brand new patch has been released that tweaks many different weapons, but also includes quite a few other changes.

The weapon tweaks have already been detailed last week and now, just after the patch has been made available for download via Xbox Live, 343 has revealed some of the other changes on the Halo Waypoint.

"The 'Slayer Pro' game mode in Big Team Infinity Slayer and Infinity Slayer now has an Assault Rifle loadout. Also, the 'Global Skill searching,' or CSR matching duration, has been increased once again for all playlists. This increase will help ensure that Matchmaking is primarily searching for both teammates and opponents at your per-playlist CSR level," 343 said.

Lots of changes have been made in terms of playlists as well, as the Majestic DLC collection is now the featured one, and that section will see other maps appear from time to time.

The Community Forge Island playlist introduced in a previous update has been removed, while modes like Capture the Flag or King of the Hill have been tweaked.

"In Capture The Flag, the overtime period has been increased from one minute to two minutes in order to allow for even more nail-biting, and 'big party matching' has been turned on, which ensures that parties of three or more will get matched with parties of three or more. In King of the Hill, the hill point limit has been increased from 25 to 50, and the score to win has been increased from 150 points to 250 points to provide more control-based game play. "

Many of the online maps have also been tweaked with "new weapon (ordnance) locations, new weapon drops, updated starting, vehicle, and objective spawns, and even new Forge objects to diversify and balance gameplay."

The new Halo 4 matchmaking update will be automatically applied the next time you enter the Infinity multiplayer mode.
