Financial institutions have blocked the cards of the affected individuals

Credit card records, Facebook passwords, images of bank checks and email addresses belonging to Israelis have been published online by an Arab hacker group called Remember Emad. The information has been allegedly stolen from WebGate, an Israeli hosting company.

The hackers, who apparently want to bring an homage to Imad Mughniyeh – Hezbollah’s chief of intelligence, killed in a car bombing back in 2008, claim to possess other information than what they have leaked, Israel Hayom reports.

The banks whose customers may have been affected by this incident have performed checks to see if the hackers’ claims are legitimate. Each of them found only a few dozen credit cards that contained valid information.

All of them have been immediately blocked to prevent misuse.

This isn’t the first time when the credit cards of Israeli citizens end up online. Back in January, a Saudi hacker called 0xOmar pulled a similar stunt.
