Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters have announced that they’re temporarily suspending Operation Ababil because the “main copy” (the one with most views) of the Innocence of Muslims movie has been removed from YouTube.

“This is a clear indication of progress and establishment of logic instead of obstinacy. This positive move is a humanitarian effort and in line with paying respect to divine religions which has made billions of people love them; and it's a becoming and proper action,” the hackers told Softpedia in an email statement.

“All of us -al-Qassam group, U.S. government, and even YouTube and Google's managers- carrying on such a wise action have contributed to this victory and progress,” they added.

“The al-Qassam cyber fighters lauds this positive measure of YouTube and on this basis suspends his operation and plans to give a time to Google and U.S. government to remove the other copies of film as well. During the suspension of Operation Ababil, no attack to U.S. banks would take place by al-Qassam cyber fighters.”

Last week, they launched distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attacks against the public websites of 26 United States financial institutions.

This week, 10 banks would have been attacked, but since the main instance of the controversial movie has been removed, the operation has been suspended “until further notice.”

The number of banks attacked in the 7th week of Operation Ababil 2 was larger than ever before. The list of targets included Bank of America, Wells Fargo, PNC, Harris Bank, Huntington, Zions, Regions, Chase, BT&T, Fifth Third, Union Bank, First Citizens Bank, Citizens Bank, Key Bank, BBVA Compass, and Comerica.

According to the results of the equation made by the hacktivists, the attacks would have continued for more than one year.

Yes these people are so "logical" - they sure do care about "humanitarian efforts" like those nasty, insidious youtube videos...now they can finally turn their attention to woman's and gay rights.

Or not...

In 1969, the United States Supreme Court defined the limits of freedom of speech. The US Supreme Court, in Brandenburg v. Ohio prescribed the ‘imminent lawless action test’ under which “speech is not protected by the First Amendment if the speaker intends to incite a violation of the law that is both imminent and likely.”
Therefore this movie is not covered under the 1st amend and the makers should be brought to justice.
To understand the sentiments of the Muslims, it is important to understand the relationship of Prophet Muhammad with his followers. No Muslim can be called a true Muslim until he loves Prophet Muhammad more than any thing in this world. Given the sentiment level, it has been historically been very easy to incite Muslims over this issue and hence it is done for the same very reason. For we to have a global peace or understanding we need to understand sensitivities of our global citizens and hence be more care full.
Hence civilized world need to make sure that such incitements are not allowed, which as stated above do not effect the civil liberties and or covered under the 1st amended. We should not let extremist take over our societies who keep rocking the pendulum of extremism.
