Wireless services provider T-Mobile USA has just announced that it would be adding a new Android-based mobile phone to its offering in the near future, namely the HTC Wildfire S,

Starting with August 3rd, the new handset will become available at T-Mobile for only $79.99 with the signing of a two-year agreement.

The new device will become available for purchase via all of the wireless carrier's retail stores, as well as online through the carrier's web store.

The HTC Wildfire S was unveiled to the world in February during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and was already launched in various markets around the world.

The handset comes as the successor of last year's popular HTC Wildfire, and offers appealing capabilities in a compact and affordable form factor.

The HTC Wildfire S will land at T-Mobile with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, and with the HTC Sense user interface loaded on top of it.

It was packed with a 3.2 inches touchscreen display, which can deliver a 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

The smartphone comes with a 600MHz application processor inside, which should still offer enough performance capabilities, as well as with 512 MB of RAM.

Moreover, it sports 512 MB of ROM, and a microSD memory card slot which can offer support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

On the back, the HTC Wildfire S packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, LED flash, and support for video recording.

Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities were included into the mix as well, along with Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, EDR, and microUSB v2.0.

The smartphone arrives on shelves with support for HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 384 Kbps, with a built-in GPS receiver, Stereo FM radio with RDS, and the usual range of sensors.

It is powered by a Li-Ion 1230 mAh battery that can deliver up to 360 hours of standby time or up to 7 hours of talk time. Measuring 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm, the HTC Wildfire S weighs in at 105 grams.
