Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is expected to bring to its network in the near future a new high-end handset from HTC, namely the HTC Vigor, and some more info on the specifications this device will include have emerged.

It might not be too long before this smartphone arrives on shelves at Big Red, with Android Gingerbread on board and the like, although no official confirmation on the matter has emerged until now.

Of course, we already had the chance to have a closer look at this mobile phone, courtesy of leaked photos with it, but a formal introduction will certainly unveil more on it than what was leaked before.

Just as previously rumored, the HTC Vigor should arrive on shelves with a 720p touchscreen display, which makes it the first handset at Verizon to include the feature.

A 1.5Ghz dual-core processor complemented by 1GB of RAM, along with Android 2.3.4 and Sense 3.5 UI will also be included into the mix.

Moreover, the upcoming mobile phone is said to include Beats Audio, which does not come too much as a surprise either, considering the fact that HTC already launched a smartphone with this feature on board.

Moreover, the new device is expected to include support for Verizon's 4G LTE network, making the recently released Motorola DROID Bionic a good run for its money.

The mobile phone already got through the FCC approval process, which further confirms that its availability date should be very close.

All that remains to be seen is whether it will be called Vigor when made available for purchase, or rumors like the ThunderBold 2 naming or the DROID Incredible HD will pan out.

In the meantime, you can head over to Android Police to have a look at some of the multimedia files that were supposedly packed inside the smartphone (such as wallpapers, boot animations, and the like), and which already leaked into the wild.
