Pocket friendly price, satisfactory capabilities

The HTC Touch Pro was expected to come to Bell Canada a few weeks ago, but it was officially released just a couple of days ago. However, we all know what they say about better late than never. The surprising factor is that it's on sale at a much more affordable price than it was first speculated.

Adding to this the fact that it is regarded, or at least has been so in the last few days, as the must-have smartphone, we could certainly say that it feels like an even better deal, even for those that did not expect to be able to afford this device.

The phone speaks for itself, by taking to the stand its 2.8-inch VGA touchscreen display, pressure sensitive and reliable in the long term. Combined with the slide-out QWERTY keyboard, it becomes one of those devices that you know it is going to make it pretty big in the business.

Needless to say, the phone brings the much wanted 3G factor and a couple of other useful features, such as a 3.2 Megapixel, autofocus, flash camera, GPS support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microSD card slot. Running on the Windows Mobile OS, this smartphone comes with Microsoft Office pre-installed and, pretty surprisingly, it is not stamped with logos all over, in contrast with the HTC Touch Pro versions offered by AT&T or Sprint that were marked just as expected.

Initially, it was believed that HTC Touch Pro would be available for about $400 on a 3-year contract, but in the end, the price was set at $200 or 240 Canadian dollars, with the same contract deal. Without an agreement, the price is a pretty steep, $649.99. Bell Canada is hoping to release the Blackberry Storm, HTC Touch Diamond and the Samsung Cleo, sometime in December, probably before Christmas.
