Today, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has made its HTC One max smartphone official in India, with a price tag of INR 56,490 ($899/€665) attached to it.

This is the largest smartphone in HTC’s lineup at the moment, but also appears to be the most expensive one. According to AndroidOS, it sports an MRP of INR 61,490 ($978/€724).

HTC One max was made official in October with a 5.9-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, and with a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon 600 processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the handset sports 2GB of RAM, along with 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot that can support up to 64GB of external storage.

On the back, the mobile phone has a 4MP UltraPixel camera with BSI sensor and support for full HD video recording, complemented by a 2-megapixel front camera for making video calls.

The specifications list of the device also includes WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities, NFC, DLNA, and a micro-USB 2.0 port. Gyro sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor, and Fingerprint scanner were also included in the package.

Furthermore, HTC One max is powered by a 3300mAh battery, and comes with HTC BoomSound Dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers.

HTC launched the new mobile phone with Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, paired with its own Sense 5.5 user interface, which sports features such as BlinkFeed.

HTC One max should start shipping in a matter of days to all those who purchase it, and can already be seen listed at retailers in the country. However, given its price tag, the handset might no appeal too much to users, that’s for sure, especially considering the fact that rival smartphones are priced lower than that.

Most probably, HTC will decide to cut One max’ price tag in the near future, if sales are not as high as expected. Stay tuned for more on this.
