Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has no plans to make the HTC One max smartphone available for purchase in Canada, the company has confirmed.

Made official on Monday, the mobile phone was announced with mid-October availability around the world, but it appears that Canada was not included on the list.

In fact, the handset vendor has already told MobileSyrup that it does not plan on launching the smartphone in Canada, and that users will have to make do with the current series of devices available at their disposal.

“HTC devices differ from country to country, we work closely with carrier partners in each region to determine what is best for their consumers,” HTC reportedly said.

“Every market is different and has specific needs and demands. We consider a number of factors such as, the HTC devices currently available, the competition etc. At this time the current HTC line up of devices is sufficient for the Canadian marketplace.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean that the company won’t change its mind at some point in the future, and that Canadian carriers won’t bring the phone to their networks in the end.

For the time being, however, the one thing that is known on the availability of HTC One max is that it will be launched in North America on the networks of Sprint and Verizon.

For those out of the loop, we should note that HTC One max arrives on shelves with a large 5.9-inch touchscreen display, as well as with a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor inside.

Additionally, the mobile phone features 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes.

HTC One max comes with an UltraPixel camera on the back, capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, as well as with a front camera for making video calls. It runs under Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, with HTC’s Sense 5.5 UI loaded on top.
