During the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week, Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation brought to the spotlight some very appealing devices based on Google's Android OS, and HTC Incredible S was among them. The handset was unveiled as the new flagship Android phone from HTC, and is expected to arrive on the market in the UK sometime in March, Carphone Warehouse notes on its website.

The smartphone will be distributed on the local market exclusively through Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy, and can be already listed on these retailers' websites, as well as at mobiles.co.uk, part of the Carphone Warehouse.

The exact release date for the smartphone in the UK is not known at the moment, but March seems to be the targeted window, provided that things go according to plan.

However, we'll still have to wait for an official announcement on the matter to learn whether things will indeed go down like this or not.

The smartphone was unveiled to the world with a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 resolution) Super LCD touchscreen display on board, and with a 1 GHz application processor packed beneath it.

Moreover, the HTC Incredible S also comes to the market with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus, dual LED flash, and 720p HD video recording capabilities, as well as with a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video calling.

The specifications list of this device also includes 768 MB of RAM, 1.1 GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space (supports up to 32GB of storage).

HTC packed the mobile phone with Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, or 3G connectivity, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, 1450 mAh Lithium-ion battery inside, and more.

The new device runs under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo OS version, as Carphone Warehouse notes, on top of which HTC loaded its own Sense UI.
