HTC HD2 Upgrades Rather Difficult for T-Mobile Customers

Windows Mobile 6.5-based HTC HD2 has seen great traction in the US on the airwaves of T-Mobile, and it seems that the device is continuing to appeal a lot to users. The latest reports on the matter suggest that existing T-Mobile customers find it rather difficult to upgrade to the new device, although the high-end handset is said to be available and in stock via the carrier's online store and at many corporate-owned retail locations.

According to T-Mobile, the initial problems with HD2 inventory have continued, this being the main reason for which some users have had difficulties in finding the phone available for purchase. Here's what the carrier said to Engadget: “T-Mobile understands the inventory challenges for the HTC HD2 and continues to work diligently in order to supply our customers with this highly popular product. As we receive additional inventory of the HTC HD2, we are giving priority to our existing customers. However, the demand for the device is still exceeding our supply.”

On the other hand, there have been a series of claims that the carrier would actually prioritize available HTC HD2 stock for new customers, while leaving existing users aside. As Engadget notes, this wouldn't be the first time T-Mobile made the move, yet the most surprising fact is that it does it again while the device has been out of stock for a couple of weeks now. HTC HD2 is a highly appealing device, and the carrier should consider servicing its existing customers first, the news site suggests.

“Depending on the location, some T-Mobile retail stores may still have some HTC HD2 inventory available. We suggest that interested customers contact their local T-Mobile store via phone before visiting to see if they have the HTC HD2 available. If they do not have the HTC HD2 available, some stores are taking names and contact information, and will be able to notify customers once that location has product available.” the wireless carrier reportedly added. Some more details on the issues T-Mobile users face can be found here.

I have found this to be exactly what T Mobile is doing. I am about to dump them and move to Verizon for the Incredible. They can call me for the next month and wonder why I left.

I am an existing cutomer and got the phone on the same day I upgrade my contract. The guy told me there was shipment arrived that day(it's last friday). He kinda whisper to me and say he could give it to me first but they are not suppose to since there are like 20 customers on the waiting list. I'm sure some T-mobile stores does that which is honestly unfair for the wait list customers. Howerver, I have also been to 2 different T-mobile to check up with them in person. So, just keep going to the store in person and don't just wait at home. (I mean, if you really want the phone). From my point of view, they are trying to attract new customers since they had the lowest service plan and be honest, most of the exsisting customers will stay with T-mobile because of the low price plan, right? So, I think their strategy is correct. They knew customers are going to stay with them because of their price even if we have to wait for a month for a phone. (just opinion)

Go to www.Costco.com and buy it for $149.99. You get free activation (credited 2 billing cycles later), free car charger, free blue tooth, free protective case, and free 2 day shipping. It's a no-brainer kind of deal. No one beats that deal! HTC HD2
