Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation is expected to soon bring to the market in Canada a new, highly appealing Android-based mobile phone, the HTC Desire HD, which follows the release of Desire Z at Bell, and which should land at Telus.

Rumors on the possible arrival of Desire HD in Canada emerged a while ago, but now they go even more substance, as the device was spotted on the Canadian version of HTCSense.com.

It appears that the wireless carrier might be set to have the new device available for purchase sometime in early 2011, offering its users a nice option when it comes to the available Android-based devices in the country.

As the guys over at MobileSyrup note in a recent article, nothing was announced officially on the matter, thought specific details should emerge soon.

For those who might not know, we should mention that the new HTC Desire HD is the latest flagship smartphone HTC brought to shelves with Google's Android operating system on board.

Sporting a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display and a fast 1GHz Snapdragon processor, the handset can easily out perform a wide range of other mobile phones powered by Android.

The specifications list of this handset shows a 800 x 480 pixel WVGA resolution for the large touchscreen display, as well as 1.5GB of ROM and 768MB of RAM to go along with the powerful processor.

The new Android-powered phone also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper with LED flash, auto focus and video recording capabilities.

We should also mention that the new mobile phone runs under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system and that it comes with HTC's new sense UI (backed by the HTCSense.com portal).

Of course, there are also a wide range of services from Google available with the device, as well as thousands of applications that can be downloaded from the Android Market.

As stated above, nothing was announced officially on Desire HD's arrival on the Canadian market, but additional info should become available soon.
