Taiwanese mobile phone maker HTC Corporation has just announced the release of a new portal for developers, called HTCdev, with the tools, resources and community that would support mobile development.

Along with it, HTC announced the new HTC OpenSense SDK, meant to ensure the building of integrated mobile applications and experiences for HTC phones.

“In launching HTCdev, together with the HTCpro program launched last year, HTC is creating a network of resources to help developers and businesses meet challenges and opportunities across the mobile space,” the mobile phone maker announced.

The HTCdev program was meant to offer support for developers all around the world, as well as from the entire industry, including individuals and enterprises.

The company would launch the accompanying website, HTCdev.com, this summer, and plans on packing it with an extensive resource library of tutorials, best practices, documentation and support.

Moreover, the website would come with a user feedback channel to HTC, aimed at ongoing investments and improvement to developer tools and resources.

The HTC OpenSense SDK should become the core offering of the program, set to enable Android developers to come up with deeper integration of their applications into the HTC Sense 3.0 experience.

Moreover, the framework would arrive with the APIs and sample code to support 3-D displays and the new Tablet pen.

The HTC OpenSense SDK should arrive at the same time as the new HTCdev.com site, and would benefit from updates and expansions, according to the feedback the company would receive from the developer community.

“HTCdev will be a comprehensive resource for developers that will provide the core tools you need to develop your ideas specifically on HTC devices, including access to HTC OpenSense SDK, support, education, and enhanced services that will enable you to build, publish and promote your ideas,” HTC notes.

“HTCdev will be a constantly evolving platform and we intend to use your feedback to add new features and tools in the future. This is the start of a conversation and of a collaboration. Where it goes from here is only limited by your imagination.”

HTCdev.com is accessible today for those who would like to register there for receiving an alert on when the HTC OpenSense SDK would be released.
