A next generation idea of a handset

Undoubtedly, smartphones have become increasingly powerful and appealing these days, with larger displays, faster application processors, more storage space, and a wider range of connectivity options, but a lot of other aspects of what would make a mobile device even more desirable have not been touched just yet. Of course, not all of the wanted features can be packed inside a small device that fits in the palm of your hand, but that does not stop enthusiasts for dreaming, that's for sure.

And when one's imagination meets one's talent, a concept phone can easily come to light, such as the one designer Andrew Kim cooked up. Called HTC 1, this concept device looks more than appealing. For what it's worth, all mobile phone enthusiasts out there, regardless the mobile platform of their choice, would certainly like to hold in their hands a next generation device that resembles the one in the photos attached to this article.

A quick look at the entire concept Andrew Kim published on his blog shows that the device would combine simplicity with added functionality, all aimed at a more sophisticated audience. Since this is a HTC phone concept, one would expect for the Sense user interface to be included in the mix, but it seems that this is not the case. A cleaner, higher-end interface would be present on this device, with combined messaging features, and a more mature look.

The hardware specs of the device have been taken into consideration as well, with stereo speakers included into the mix (at the top and bottom of the phone), along with a kickstand that would actually be the bottom of the handset's casing. One of the most interested features of the device is a built-in UV light that would kill germs on the surface of the phone. All in all, the concept looks more than appealing, though it would most probably never become reality. More photos are available on Andrew Kim's blog here.
