Following Dell's launch of its new Download Store, leading computer system vendor HP has just announced the launch of its very own online store, dubbed MarketSplash. Designed as a one-stop, web-based shop, MarketSplash is meant to provide small businesses with some of the industry’s lowest prices and fastest services, including professional-quality design and print fulfillment. According to the Palo Alto, California-based PC vendor, the launch of its new MarketSplash follows a successful beta test with Nestle Confections and Snacks, which took advantage of the MarketSplash offerings to create new packaging designs.

“MarketSplash helps small businesses create the high impact look of a big company without requiring the resources of one,” said Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “As part of our Print 2.0 strategy, MarketSplash helps customers easily and affordably access professional design services from the web and print how, where and when they want.”

In addition to MarketSplash, HP has also introduced a same-day pickup program at Copy and Print centers in Staples stores and a free business card offer. First-time customers will be presented with a 100 free business card offer.

With the launch of MarketSplash, HP will basically provide small businesses with premium do-it-yourself (DIY) online templates and custom design offerings, which will enable customers to create a number of original marketing products, including business cards, stationery, postcards, logos and website design. HP's MarketSplash goes as far as even offering a one-on-one brand design consultation.

For a price tag of under $40, small businesses are being presented with the possibility to choose from more than 1400 professionally-designed templates. According to HP, this offer enables customers to deal with no processing, shipping or other fees, with the shipment becoming available in seven business days or less. The branding packages offered by MarketSplash start at $579, which will include original logo concepts with unlimited revisions, custom business cards and stationery design work.
