HP has revealed a significant number of new PCs just a short while ago, and while the ENVY 17 3D will cater to the needs of users that favor 3D multimedia, the ENVY 14 Beats seeks to entrance prospective purchasers through high-quality sound thanks to the Beats Audio technology.

The HP ENVY 17 was released at the same time as the ENVY 14 Beats and offers “the best stereoscopic 3-D visual experience without compromising 2-D content.”

The ENVY 14, however, puts a greater emphasis on audio quality, which is why it is equipped with the Beats Audio technology developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre.

“Beats Audio was developed in collaboration with legendary artist and producer Dr. Dre and chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Beats co-founder Jimmy Iovine,” states the press release.

Noteworthy design elements include a precision-crafted, soft-touch, sleek aluminum enclosure, as well as the “signature” Beats Audio black and red color theme, as well as a red backlight for the keyboard.

In terms of hardware, the press release does not disclose the full range of specifications but does mention the existence of an Intel Core processor and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 video board.

What's more, HP threw in the optional HP Slim Fit Extended-Life battery, which can allegedly keep the notebook operational for up to 13 hours instead of “just” 6.5.

Other features that the PC maker saw fit to provide are Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Adobe Premiere Elements 8, for photo and video editing, respectively.

Finally, each HP ENVY 14 Beats Edition is bundled with the Beats by Dr. Dre Solo Headphones from Monster with ControlTalk.

According to the formal announcement, the newcomer has already started shipping in the united States and has a price tag of $1,249.
