In May

Activision is announcing that it has introduced a new and attractive bundle related to Guitar Hero Metallica, which is set to arrive in Europe on May 22, for the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii. On the same day, the videogame should come in Australia and the United Kingdom should get the music title on May 29.

The Guitar Hero Metallica Solo Guitar Game bundle is set to include the game itself, a wireless guitar controller and a new and exclusive face plate featuring the well-known Metallica skull symbol. Activision has not announced the price for the package but will surely do so as the release date approaches.

Guitar Hero Metallica should offer the same content in Europe and Australia as in the United States, where the game was released earlier. There are 45 tracks that can be played, some from Metallica itself and some from bands that have influenced its music. The venues on which the game takes place are inspired from the album art of the band and Activision has even introduced a new difficulty setting for those who are playing the drums. It's called Expert+ and it is set to accurately simulate the way two bass drum kick pedals are used by the band.

With the success of Guitar Hero Metallica, Activision seems convinced that the franchise can now abandon the approach of World Tour, which introduced songs from a lot of bands, instead of focusing on offering a more narrow experience, which focuses on one band. Next up, we have Van Halen, which could get a Guitar Hero game by the end of the year.

Activision is also expanding its line up in the franchise, offering Hero games that feature DJ stars and even preparing a response to LEGO Rock Band, with more mainstream tunes and, probably, easier to get gameplay mechanics.
