Gran Turismo 5 is set to receive a lot of patches in the near future, as its creator and Polyphony Digital boss, Kazunori Yamauchi, revealed that another patch would be released at the end of the month in order to solve the issue of backing up save game data to external storage mediums.

The game creator detailed another patch earlier this week, which will solve the game's damage system, and add the possibility for players to select the level of realism they can experience from crashing during the races of Gran Turismo 5.

Now, Yamauchi revealed that the save game data created by the racing title, which is currently protected against copying, would be freed by the release of another patch later this month.

According to the Polyphony Digital executive, players will be able to back up their save game data on external storage options like flash drives, so that they can move them to other PlayStation 3 consoles.

Besides detailing this new patch on his Twitter account, Yamauchi also indulged in a few other questions from his followers.

According to the Gran Turismo 5 creator, the game will receive online leaderboards and the ability to view other players' time attack records later this month.

Besides that, he also talked about the possibility of sharing replays, which, sadly, isn't possible, as the files are too big to be shared through regular data connections.

Players might be able to create point to point courses using the game's course creator, not just closed ones, but don't expect the feature anytime soon.

Last but not least, Yamauchi also talked about the jaggy shadows present in the game, and revealed that they were caused by a number of things, including the camera angles or the dynamic lighting.

He would like to have them fixed, but don't expect a dedicated patch anytime soon.

All in all, it seems that both Yamauchi and his Polyphony Digital team are hard at work polishing up Gran Turismo 5 after its release.

What other new options or fixes would you like to see in future patches for the racing game?
