Ever since she made her debut at the Country Music Awards in November 2010, Gwyneth Paltrow has build up new confidence as regards singing. In fact, she had more than plenty for an extraordinary performance at last night’s Grammys 2011.

When part of the lineup for the big night was announced and it was revealed to include a duet from Gwyneth and Cee Lo Green, nominee and eventually winner of the Best Urban/Alternative Performance, many were skeptic about whether she could pull it off.

Not only did she do just that, but she also proved that she may be as talented as a singer as she is as an actress.

As the video below will confirm, the performance was just like Cee Lo said it would be: fun and different. After all, that’s just one way of describing a stage full of muppets and such a crazy outfit as his was.

Green started at the piano, singing the clean version of his latest hit, “Forget You.” Wearing a puffy, feathery outfit in crazy bright colors and a headpiece that would have made Sir Elton John proud back in the day, he was accompanied by muppets.

These not only sang backing vocals but also accompanied Cee Lo on the instruments, in what turned out to be the most fun performance of the night.

At one point, Gwyneth came on stage: dressed in a black catsuit with a neckline that went down to her navel, the actress rocked some insane heels and hot pink puffy earrings.

She sang, flirted with Cee Lo and even got up on the piano, sang on her tummy and stood up on it for the grand closure, which was met with rapturous applause from the audience.

MTV News says the idea for the muppets was Green’s, made possible with a little help from Jim Henson Company, as CEO Brian Henson revealed in a recent interview for the same media outlet.

“We had never worked with him before, and he’s just a fabulous guy. I think he’s a lifelong fan of the Muppets, and he had a pretty good idea of what he wanted,” Henson revealed.
