14 DAY TRIAL // He has the looks that can make millions of girls swoon – and he doesn’t even have to make too much of an effort to do so. Chace Crawford’s charms were useless on police officers the other night, though, when he was arrested for possession of marijuana. Since then, he’s made bail and is now awaiting arraignment, E! News informs.
It’s safe to say that Chace has effectively tarnished his good-boy reputation now that he has a pot arrest on his record – not to mention the (attached) booking photo that is already making the rounds on the Internet. Still, there was nothing spectacular about the bust, save for the fact that it happened to one of the most popular stars on the television show “Gossip Girl.” Chace was taken to the police and he almost instantly made bail.
“Gossip Girl hunk Chace Crawford was arrested in his hometown of Plano, Texas, early this morning after cops allegedly found him in possession of marijuana. Here’s what happened: The bust went down while Crawford and a buddy were chilling in a ‘03 Nissan outside of Ringo’s Pub. (There’s no word on the friend's identity, but it’s safe to say it was not Mexican travel buddy Tony Romo.)” E! writes of the arrest.
“Police allege he had less than 2 ounces of pot on him. One source tells E! News it was just a single joint. Crawford managed to spring himself just after 1 a.m., albeit not before leaving the Internet with that gift that keeps on giving, a celeb mug shot. ‘He is not in custody,’ Plano police told E! News. ‘He already bailed out early this a.m.’ The maximum sentence for misdemeanor pot-possession is 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine,” the same celebrity e-zine informs.
As of now, neither Chace himself nor his publicist has issued any statement regarding the arrest. While he continues mum on the topic, his booking photo is slowly spreading online on all celebrity blogs and glossy e-zines. The fact that it seems to show the actor on the verge of tears is also helping in terms of it spreading like wild fire.
