Internet giant Google has made available for download a new set of updated applications for the owners of handsets powered by its Android operating system.

The Nexus Q, Play Movies & TV and YouTube applications got updated, all of which can now deliver a better experience for more users out there.

The Nexus Q app, for example, is now available for download from the Google Play Store as version 1.0.8.406084.

In addition to a series of performance improvements brought to its social mix (guest mode) feature, the new app version also comes with support for earlier flavors of the Android platform.

Following the update, all users of phones and tablet PCs that are powered by Android 2.3.3 and up can download and install the Nexus Q app, Google notes.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the app can be used with current versions of Google Play and YouTube apps and that it offers streaming of music, TV shows, videos, and HD movies to Nexus Q devices at home.

The recent update to the YouTube app comes as version 4.0 for Ice Cream Sandwich and newer devices, and offers support for Nexus Q, along with a range of bug fixes inside.

The software is available as version 2.5 for older platform versions, providing users with the possibility to transform their handsets into remote controls for playing YouTube videos on other devices, in addition to offering support for Nexus Q.

The latest enhancements brought to the Play Movies & TV app for Android, include faster downloads, along with a range of fixes for issues that were found to affect the software.

Additionally, Google notes that the new release comes with fixes for the playback failure that some LG (and possibly other) devices have been experiencing before.

You can find all three apps in the Google Play store, either on the web or straight from your Android devices.
