Google’s products are not as spread on Windows Phone as they are on Android, but the Mountain View-based Internet giant appears set to change that.

Today, the company announced the availability of some improvements for Google Sync, all destined for the owners of devices running under Microsoft’s Windows Phone.

The main enhancement that users will benefit from following the update is support for Multiple Calendars.

This will enable users who have more than a single calendar to keep them synced with their mobile phones. The best part is that they can choose which of the Calendars to be synced.

“We launched a few new features on Google Sync for our Windows Phone (7.5+) users. Multiple Calendars is a feature that lets you select which of your Google Calendars are synced to your device,” Li Yin, Google Sync Team, explains in a Google+ post.

Using the feature is very simple. Windows Phone owners will have to head over to m.google.com/sync on their smartphone’s browser, and then select the calendars they would like to see.

“From that page, you can also configure which addresses you send mail as if you have custom addresses in Gmail,” Li Yin continues.

This is only one of the improvements that Google has prepared for Windows Phone users. Following the update, they will also benefit from enhanced search.

“We’ve also improved search to look beyond the conversations that are stored locally on your device so that you are able to find more of your conversations, faster,” Li Yin concludes.

All of these changes are meant for the owners of devices that run under Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7.5 and higher platform versions.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Google Sync was meant to offer support for a number of up to 25 Google Calendars, with the Calendar app designed for the Windows Phone (7.5+) platform.
