A few hours ahead of the livestream reveal of God of War: Ascension, Sony has confirmed that the new hack and slash game will have a “ground-breaking” multiplayer mode.

God of War: Ascension was revealed in a rushed manner earlier this month after the game’s title and its first video appeared on the web.

Now, Sony is getting ready to host a special livestream presentation of the new game that’s going to take place later today, at 8am PDT.

Until then, the company has just confirmed that the new game will have a multiplayer mode, which was heavily rumored some time ago.

“God of War: Ascension will feature a ground-breaking new online multiplayer mode. We wouldn’t do multiplayer in God of War unless we knew we could do it right,” Sony said about the new hack and slash game.

No other details are known as of yet, but expect the livestream presentation in just a few hours to shed some light on God of War: Ascension.

Until then, feel free to share your thoughts on this peculiar decision below.
