All those players who have not yet experienced the Command & Conquer or the Red Alert series and all those fans who are interested in getting the games for their personal collection in a digital form can now log on to an official Electronic Arts site and download, for free, three games set in the same universe, the original Tiberian Dawn, its sequel Tiberian Sun, complete with the Firestorm expansion, and the original Red Alert, which acts as a sort of prequel.

All the above mentioned titles are set to work on the Windows XP operating system and Electronic Arts is offering detailed installation instructions for all of them so that players can quickly set them up and play some true real-time strategy titles. There is also online play for the three games, offered via community-hosted servers so the experience should be complete.

Electronic Arts is gearing up to release Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, the title that should end the current story arc in the game universe and deal with the fate of long time protagonist Kane. The new videogame is also an opportunity for the developers to experiment with the formula that has powered the series. Players will be able to choose a class when they begin the game determining which units and powers they will have access to.

Units will also earn experience and level up as the game progresses. The storyline of Tiberian Twilight will deal with an effort by Nod and GDI to work together in order to deal with the threat posed by the Tiberium substance and by the possible return of the Scrin.

Tiberian Dawn, Tiberuan Sun and the original Red Alert might look pretty old but they are all solid experiences spiced up with FMV videogames truly worth playing, especially when they can be obtained for free.
