GeIL may be known for its collection of computer memory products, but it appears that, in this instance, it set aside RAM in order to build its first gaming peripheral.

For a company to branch out is definitely not unheard of, especially on the IT market, where the user base can gain interest in a certain product type and lose it just as fast.

As an example, ASRock went from budget hardware provider to full-fledged consumer hardware, especially motherboard maker, hardware like the newest Fatal1ty motherboard.

Now, GeIL has decided to expend its role from that of RAM maker to supplier of a greater variety of components.

Still, such transitions take time and are best made one step at a time, in this case said step being the making of the EpicGear MeduZa Hybrid Dual Sensor Technology Gaming Mouse.

Knowing today's gamers, it makes sense that GeIL would have its first move be in the form of a mouse, although the EpicGear is not exactly the most expensive of models.

Although definitely high-end, and with the black and red color scheme to go with the trend, the device will sell, starting in the third quarter, for $79.99.

Indeed, this isn't exactly affordable, but there are models out there that cost a lot more than this, and GeIL doesn't seem to have slacked off when it came to performance either.

For one, the tracking speed is of 200 ips (inches per second), while acceleration speed is of up to 30G and the Hybrid Dual Sensor Technology allows one to switch between using an optical and a laser sensor.

For those that want more numbers, the HDTS mode supports sensitivity of up to 3,600 dpi, or even more, while laser mode takes that number much higher, to 6,000+ dpi.

Other specs include an ARM 32-bit Cortex-M3 processor, 1000 Hz USB 2.0 polling rate, 7 programmable buttons, 5 gaming profiles 128 Kb of onboard memory and customizable LED colors.

As one would expect, the EpicGear MeduZa will be put on show during this year's Computex trade show.
