There aren't many things that the DS has over Sony's PSP, except sales figures that is. However, as the DS sports an insane lineup of titles and as you can imagine many of those feature multiplayer mode, the userbase for Nintendo's DS Wi-Fi gaming community is a large one. Thus, Game Almighty is making it easier for DS owners to swap Friend Codes for online games through its social networking community, "My Base."

Game Almighty is a comic book-themed gaming website that combines knowledge, humor and the latest Internet technologies with social networking and video sharing, which is pretty much what all gaming websites do. But, from now on GameAlmighty will also give players the opportunity to share their Friend Codes by accessing the 'My Games' section of their personal 'My Base' page. From then on codes can be designated as either public or private, making them viewable by anyone or only by approved friends.

Equally important is that gamers will also be able to search for other players' Friend Codes or find online games currently being played and connect to them directly from their My Base page, just like with Halo 3 via Xbox Live.

"In order to play with other gamers on Nintendo's Wi-Fi connection players need to exchange Friend Codes, and until now, there hasn't been a safe and easy way to do that," said Christiaan Allebest, Editor-in-Chief of GameAlmighty.com. "Providing this kind of accessibility is what our 'My Base' section is all about."

In addition to supplying Nintendo DS Friend Codes, GameAlmighty also wants to integrate Friend Codes for Wii users in the future.

Another new and interactive service for Nintendo gamers is Wi-Philes, also allowing them to instantly share Friend Codes, create and participate in online tournaments and rate and review all of their Nintendo titles for all the world to see, but DS users as well.

It looks like Nintendo has quite some support backing up their two winning consoles. Why is everyone so confident that the two platforms success will last so long? Sony and Microsoft aren't just going to sit with their arms crossed and watch Nintendo take all the glory.
