Japanese carrier NTT Docomo has just announced the first Honeycomb tablets that are fully compatible with its LTE network, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and ARROWS Tab.

The recently introduced NTT Docomo LTE service is called Xi (read “Crossy”) and will be available beginning next month, along with both tablets.

According to NTT Docomo, “docomo Tablet GALAXY Tab 10.1 LTE SC-01D” is expected to hit shelves in Japan in early October, while the “docomo Tablet ARROWS Tab LTE F-01D” will be available in mid October.

The tablets seem to have similar specs, though they are manufactured by different companies.

Obviously, the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is made by Samsung and seems to be the same as the European variant, but features LTE support, whereas the Arrows Tab tablet is manufactured by Fujitsu.

However, Fujitsu's tablet is way more interesting with its IPX5/IPX7 certification and waterproof design.

In addition, Arrows Tab comes with a special “Hand Gesture Control” that allows users to control the tablet with simple gestures without touching it.

Both devices are powered by Google's Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and feature brilliant 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen displays.

In addition, each tablet is equipped with dual core CPUs and come pre-loaded with four new broadband applications, including the Japanese versions of Hulu and Qik Video services.

Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE sports a 3.2-megapixel main camera on the back, while Fujitsu's Arrows Tab tablet comes with a superior 5.1-megapixel photo snapper.

As NTT Docomo suggests, both tablets have been customized to support some of the carrier's most important services such as sp-mode, docomo market and Area Mail.

On related news, NTT Docomo stated that plans to reorganize its device lineup by creating a separate series for tablets, called “docomo Tablet.”

There's no word on the price or exact release dates yet, but further details will be disclosed by the end of the month.
