Officially introduced last week, along with other Galaxy family smartphones such as Ace, Fit and Gio, Samsung Galaxy mini has just been spotted at Indian online retailer Flipkart.

The entry-level Android smartphone is available for pre-order for Rs. 8,999 (roughly $200), taxes included.

Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Pop S5570, the device's estimated release date is the second week of February, so Indian customers who decide to pre-order the phone will have to wait a few more days to receive the Galaxy Mini.

The entry-level smartphone is powered by an ARM 600MHz processor and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo out-of-the-box.

It comes with a 3.14-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors support, 240 x 320 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, TouchWiz v3.0 UI, Swype text input method and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

Galaxy mini seems to be in the same price range as the popular LG Optimus One, another affordable Android 2.2 smartphone, which will probably be its main competitor.

Even though it's a low-budget phone, Galaxy mini features HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, along with 160 MB of internal memory and microSD card for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB card included).

Other key features of the smartphone include: 3.5 mm audio jack, DNSe sound enhancement, Stereo FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, microUSB 2.0, GPS with A-GPS support, as well as Digital compass.

Samsung Galaxy mini packs an average 3.2 megapixel camera with geo-tagging and video recording capabilities (QVGA@15fps).

The phone is quadband GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 compatible and is powered by a standard Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery.

Even though no certain launch date has been disclosed yet, Samsung stated that in addition to India, the smartphone will also be available in Europe and China.
