Lately we have seen all sort of GTX 570 leaks coming out just ahead of Nvidia launching its second GTX 500 series graphics card, but earlier today we managed to hit the jackpot as a hardware website accidentally posted a full review of the card and came with some pretty interesting conclusions.
Although the article has been taken down by now, the Tech Report review has already been seen by some of the enthusiast community, Google even having enough time to index it to its cache.
But making a long story short, I will skip right down to the
conclusions, The Tech Report stating that performance is on par with that of the GeForce GTX 480 while its power consumption and noise levels are on par with those of a GTX 470.
Furthermore, the sock cooler is nice and quiet, but the best part about it is the retail price as
Nvidia will release the GTX 570 at $350, the very first cards already making their way onto the
Newegg website.
At this price point, the GTX 570 is a full $70 cheaper than the least expensive GTX 480 listed on Newegg.
Taking a quick look at the benchmark results one can certainly see the GTX 570 has no trouble separating itself from cheaper solutions such as the GeForce GTX 460 1GB and the
Radeon HD 6870, although it struggles to come faster than last year's Radeon HD 5870 in games such as Bad Company 2 and StarCraft II.
As you probably know by now, the GTX 570 comes with 480 CUDA cores that are clocked at 732MHz, its 1.28GB of GDDR5 memory being clocked at 3800MHz and making use of a 320-bit memory interface.
Furthermore, the GTX 570 also comes with 40 ROP units and 60 FP16 texturing units, double the number of texturing units found in the GTX 480.
