It looks like all those smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices out there, particularly Apple-made, can now enjoy a solid amount of storage wirelessly, thanks to G-Technology.

Mobile devices have definitely been getting even more popular than ever, and this is not just because the tablet market came to make things seem fresh again.

The fact is that the performance level is higher than ever, as is the level of functionality and the available content for them.

Still, there is one element of a mobile device's hardware that often leaves users wanting, that being the storage space.

While smartphones and tablets can definitely pack a nice number of gigabytes, the fact is that the common file size for multimedia grew along with performance standards, so even 32 GB can be underwhelming to some.

G-Technology figured it may as well build on the need for more storage space, though the product it created might not be what users would first expect.

Simply put, the outfit designed a wireless storage solution of 500 GB, one that can link to 5 or more devices at once, depending on load, and can also handle up to three HD video stream at once, or five SD ones, all over WiFi.

It is described as a 'personal cloud' and is intended for iPhones and iPads, the access to the content set to be enabled by an iOS app.

Fortunately, Android devices will get their own native apps for giving their browser access to the so-called G-CONNECT as well.

"With the unprecedented growth in tablets and smartphones, our goal is to deliver solutions that better fit the increasing mobile lifestyle of consumers," said Mike Williams, vice president and general manager, Hitachi GST Branded Business.

"With G-CONNECT, now you truly can take it all with you! Providing more wireless storage for your iPad or iPhone, with WiFi Internet access, G-CONNECT users can easily access all of their content across multiple devices and from the cloud with the simplicity of a light switch."

For extra peace of mind, password protection exists, as does a “private” folder with customizable sharing options.
