A new BlackBerry Storm model is expected to arrive on the market during the ongoing year, namely the Storm 3, and the full list of specifications for this device has just emerged into the wild, along with info on a possible September release date.

This is not the first time we learn about the upcoming arrival of this device, as rumors on it emerged for the first time several months ago.

The new info on Storm 3 surfaced over at BGR following leaked details on a series of other upcoming smartphones from Research In Motion, including the BlackBerry Dakota, BlackBerry Curve, and BlackBerry Torch 2.

Overall, the new touch-enabled smartphone from RIM should prove very appealing when released on shelves, especially since it would pack enhanced hardware specs, along with new software to improve the experience users receive from it.

The list of specs for Storm 3 includes a 1.2GHz application processor, complemented by 512MB of RAM. The phone would sport a 3.7-inch 800 x 480 pixel capacitive touchscreen display on the front, and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with 720p video recording on the back.

The new device should also include quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE connectivity options, along with tri-band UMTS/HSPA capabilities, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and 2.4GHz b/g/n and 5GHz a/n Wi-Fi + UMA. The handset might also include 3G Mobile hotspot capabilities.

Moreover, the BlackBerry Storm 3 handset should sport 8GB eMMC (storage for apps and data), complemented by a microSD card slot for additional storage space.

Other specifications of the forthcoming smartphone would include Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Optical trackpad, as well as a 1230 mAh battery.

According to BGR, the new device should run under BlackBerry OS 6.1, which was introduced only a few days ago, and should also include OpenGL ES 2.0.

Apparently, RIM might come to the market with several Storm 3 flavors for the global market, and there is also the possibility that the company would change the branding of the lineup, but nothing was confirmed on this for the time being.
