It seems that everybody has had just enough of those low powered, low quality, sound systems used in most of the notebooks available out there as recently more and more manufacturers have started improving their speaker quality, Fujitsu just announcing they will do the same with a wide range of laptop PCs and desktop All-In-One computers that will soon come with DTS sound technologies.

Available in the FH, AH, NH and SH series that is bound to hit Japan sometime during this winter, the Surround Sensation UltraPC software includes quite an impressive array of DTS developed technologies (DTS Surround Sensation, DTS Boost and DTS NeoPC).

All of these are designed to work together in order to deliver a surround sound effect from just two speakers or headphones, while the DTS Boost technology will increase the volume perceived by the user.

Furthermore, sound can also be up-mix from stereo to 5.1 or 6.1 surround thanks to DTS' NeoPC technology, although I have my doubts this will sound as good as true surround sound.

"Fujitsu believes engaging immersive audio is key to delivering an exciting entertainment experience on a PC, so we believe incorporating DTS technology into our laptop PCs and desktop All-In-One computers adds a great value for the end customers," says Kenji Mitake, Executive Vice President, Fujitsu Personal Systems Business Unit.

"This partnership with DTS, the leading provider of audio solutions for HD entertainment, marks for Fujitsu a meaningful step forward in today's PC marketplace."

Although these are definitely good news for all the audio enthusiasts out there that just about had it with laptop integrated speakers, it still remains to be seen if these new laptops and AIO PCs can sound just as good as the two companies say they will, especially when they will go head to head with notebooks such as Asus' N73Jn, that we formerly reviewed and found to pack quite an impressive sound.
