Mobile phone carrier U.S. Cellular has announced the launch of a new offering for its customers for this holiday season, with all phones, including the latest smartphones running under Android, being available for free on contract if purchased between December 17th and December 24th.

Moreover, the wireless carrier announced that its customers interested in the purchase of a new smartphone would receive a $100 credit. The same offer is available for those existing customers who add a new smartphone line.

“Shoppers can make this holiday season memorable by giving Android-powered phones like the HTC Desire, LG Optimus U or Samsung Mesmerize (a Galaxy S device), which is the highest-rated smartphone by Consumer Reports,” the wireless carrier announced.

According to U.S. Cellular, those customers interested in taking advantage of this offer should head to any of its stores to get a free handset while supplies last.

The wireless services provider also notes that all of its handsets, including the advanced smartphones like the BlackBerry Bold and Curve, can be purchased for free upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement and after a mail-in rebate.

All handsets would be able to offer great capabilities when coupled with the carrier's high-speed nationwide network, U.S. Cellular notes.

“Our extensive lineup of cutting-edge phones offers something for everyone,” said Edward Perez, vice president of marketing and sales operations for U.S. Cellular.

“We have devices and plans for heavy texters, business people, music fans, gamers and folks who want a basic phone without the advanced features. The All Phones Free sale is the perfect opportunity for customers to find the one that best fits their lifestyle.”

Among the handsets that would be made available for free on US Cellular's network, we can count the Android-powered Samsung Mesmerize and HTC Desire, as well as the recently released LG Optimus U, not to mention the said BlackBerry Bold and Curve.

“Customers who prefer a phone for calling, texting and taking pictures can select devices like the Samsung Profile Freeform and Exec, the Motorola Grasp and LG Mystique. These feature-rich devices have expandable memory for music fans who want to take their tunes everywhere,” the carrier announced.
