14 DAY TRIAL // Almost one week ago, word started to make the rounds online that Frank Grillo (“The Warrior,” “End of Watch”) was in talks to play villain Crossbones in Marvel’s upcoming “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”
We now have confirmation.
The rumor originated in Grillo himself, who revealed a bit too much about his time in LA in a tweet he’s since deleted.
Radio host Matthew Aaron is confirming the casting choice on the same social networking website.
“Once again, just wanted to tell you and I'll be talking about it all week... Frank Grillo has tested for Crossbones in the new Marvel movies,” Aaron says.
Marc Graser of Variety also says Grillo’s involvement in the Marvel franchise is a given. “Frank Grillo confirmed as Crossbones in Marvel's CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER,” he says.
Oddly enough, Marvel is still refusing to say anything on the record, but I don’t think we need any more confirmation. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will be out in April 2014.
