Sports Interactive, the developer, and SEGA, the publisher, are announcing that Football Manager 2009 has received a new patch, version 9.2.0, which aims to fix most if not all the issues players reported on the management title.

For starters, four crashes that appeared quite frequently are now fixed. The Italian C Cup will no longer crash when not selecting the C2 league and a crash that tended to appear when continuing games from the main menu is also fixed. Crashes related to transfers have been sorted out by the developers.

Football Manager 2009 is also getting a host of general improvements, ranging from correct origins for some of the young players that appear in the game to changing the attendance numbers for those clubs getting promoted or relegated. The interface has been tweaked here and there to make sure that managers are getting the information and the options they need.

Even with all the changes made, Sports Interactive is saying that all save games made before applying the patch are compatible with 9.2.0. Those who are interested in checking out the entire change log for the patch can do so on the forums for Football Manager 2009. Be warned that the developers have posted quite a long list, detailing each and every change they have made to the game.

Football Manager 2009 introduces, for the first time in the long running management series, a 3D match engine allowing gamers to watch their players perform all the schemes they created during training. The initial player database for the game had no less than 350,000 names, with full information and attributes and Sports Interactive has promised regular updates to keep the game relevant.
