Developed by Playrix Entertainment, Fishdom aquarium simulator is expected to land on Apple's iPad platform in mid-September. Previously announced for a mid-June release, the game has seen graphical improvements and additional polishing, thus it has been postponed for the beginning of the fall

Playrix Entertainment is a well-known developer and publisher of casual game, its portfolio containing successful titles such as: Royal Envoy, Call of Atlantis, Gardenscapes, 4 Elements and many more.

Fishdom is not a new game, but it's a high-definition adaptation of the award-winning match-3 downloadable title of the same name, which is now in the process of being ported on iPad.

The developer of the game also announced plans to bring several more of its titles mentioned above to the iPad by the end of the year 2010.

In Fishdom HD, players are challenged to progress through match-3 boards and puzzles to earn virtual cash, which they can use to purchase exotic fish, ornaments and plants to create an aquarium of their own design.

Players will be awarded with Cups, as they complete levels, thus receiving extra bonuses. Gameplay can be easy or hard, as it can be adapted to every player's skills and pace, thus offering exactly the level of difficulty a particular gamer can feel comfortable with.

Some of the key features of the game include: full optimization for the touch screen; unlimited replayability; interactive and fully customizable virtual environment; impressive variety of items and accessories to choose from.

The Fishdom franchise features 6 installments, including the recently launched sequel, Fishdom 2.

While the first Fishdom rolled out in 2008, since then it won numerous Best Game awards such as, the iParenting Media Award as Best Video Game of 2009.

Fishdom is also a huge hit since it was adapted for Facebook as a social game.
