Vivendi has just announced that it will support the release of the "Urban Attack" game for mobile phones. This first-person shooter is set to hit the market before the end of the year and make an excellent holiday gift for many people.

"Urban Attack" follows a plot set in 2046, after the
third war, in Ukraine. The Russian Mafia now controls the Russian government, where the part of Yuri, a 17-year-old agent in the UCCK network of technology begins. He, along with psy-ops experts set up by the Russian Mafia has to operate covertly in the United States. Still, Yuri has a mysterious past and any attempt to discover the truth turns into a dangerous pursuit.

"We wanted to develop a fast paced, original mobile game, that retains the look and feel of a more traditional shooter while being designed to function across hundreds of handsets, instead of a limited number of 3D devices", said Vincent Dondaine, producer of Urban Attack, Vivendi Games Mobile. "Players will enjoy the easy to use targeting system which is so smooth it quickly becomes second nature. This title overcomes the typical challenges a game of this type for mobile presents, and we hope it proves to be a successful model for mobile games moving forward", he further added.

Vivendi Games Mobile has put in a great amount of effort in this game for bringing it under its current form. They worked for more than 20 months on it and look to make it one of the most intense and challenging such games out there. "FPS enthusiasts as well as more casual gamers will undoubtedly find the intense graphics and meticulous attention to detail impressive and will quickly find themselves engaged with the storyline and gameplay", said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile.

"Urban Attack" will be available in Europe and North America this holiday season for a yet undisclosed price.
