Last week, Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion brought to shelves its very first tablet PC, the BlackBerry PlayBook, currently available for purchase on the market in Canada and the United States, and the first video commercial with the device is now available for your viewing pleasure.

The new tablet PC was launched on the market with a 7-inch touchscreen display, which hides a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 application processor, with each core clocked in at 1 GHz.

Thus, the BlackBerry PlayBook is capable of offering great performance capabilities to its users, as well as an impressive experience on the large touchscreen display, something that the popular BlackBerry smartphones were not able to provide.

On the new PlayBook, web browsing is fast and easy, and the viewing of videos and other content delivers a great experience.

All in all, the new tablet PC can easily prove a great portable device for all users, and the video ad available with it, which can be seen embedded at the bottom of this article, would show you exactly that.

The fast application processor inside the PlayBook is complemented by 1 GB of RAM, and there is also enough memory storage to fit anyone's needs (RIM launched 16GB, 32G B and 64GB flavors of the device).

At the same time, the tablet comes with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, complemented by a 3MP camera on the front, for video calling.

The device is powered by the BlackBerry Tablet OS, a new software based on QNX. RIM plans on moving its BlackBerry smartphones to QNX as well.

RIM's tablet PC was unveiled in September last year, but it arrived on the market only in April, over six months later. Even so, the PlayBook is said to be more appealing that other similar devices on the market, and is expected to enjoy great sales in the next 12 months or so.
