JoBlo sums up an entire year in cinema in under 9 minutes

Some we love and some we hate and even more we love to hate, but movies are a part of our life and we spend a lot of time watching them, discussing about them, praising them, tearing them to pieces, or even looking up details online about the actors who appear in them.

Life without movies is impossible, at least for many millions of us. If you feel the same way, above is the best Christmas present you could have asked for, a video that proves just that.

Edited by Nick Bosworth and presented by JoBlo, the “Final Cut 2013, A Cinema Tribute” is divided into several “chapters”: comedy, love story, action, drama, and magic. All of them confirm that films make our lives better, they inspire us, they teach us new things (as long as we’re willing to learn, of course), they leave us in awe, they get us emotional.

At the end of the day, this is what movies are: emotion. And clearly, 2013 has been a good year for that.

The video includes music from Steven Price with “Above Earth” (“Gravity” OST), C2C with “Down the Road,” M83 with “My Tears Are Becoming a Sea,” Pitch Hammer Music with “Becoming the Monster,” Radroid Music with “Dry Hump / Chemical Induction,” Audiomachine with “Millennium.”

Sit back and enjoy… because “if you’re not having fun, then what’s the point?”
