Amidst ongoing speculation that she is losing the battle with anal cancer, screen siren Farrah Fawcett will see her story aired on NBC no later than the following week, EW has confirmed. The documentary, clocking in at two hours, is described as a very personal approach to her battle with the disease, and is guaranteed to mark a spike in ratings for the television channel, industry watchers say, because of Farrah’s huge following.

“NBC News will air ‘Farrah’s Story,” a two-hour special chronicling actress Farrah Fawcett’s battle against cancer, on Friday, May 15, from 9-11 p.m. ET. Billed as ‘an extremely personal look at her battle with cancer,’ the show will be narrated by the former ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star, who has sought treatment in the U.S. and Germany. Friends including Ryan O’Neal (Fawcett’s longtime companion, who is also fighting cancer), Jaclyn Smith, Kate Jackson, and Alana Stewart (who coproduced and shot most of the show) will also appear.” EW reports.

As of now, it is not yet certain whether this “Farrah’s Story” documentary is the same as “A Wing and a Prayer,” on which the actress started to work shortly after being diagnosed with cancer. “A Wing” is meant to be not only a means of chronicling the star’s struggle with the disease, but also a vehicle to convey to other sufferers the message that, at the end of the day, they are not as alone as they might think they are in certain moments.

Whichever may be the case, it is believed that NBC will see a major spike in ratings for airing “Farrah’s Story,” mostly because of the huge fanbase that has supported and encouraged the star throughout this entire period. The moment the official announcement was made, fans and fellow cancer sufferers took to the Internet on dedicated forums to express their love and well wishes for the star, who is reportedly slowly giving in to the disease and no longer has the strength to fight it.

As we reported a couple of days ago, sources close to the actress are telling the media that Farrah Fawcett is in dire condition, and that they are “praying for a miracle” at this point. Camp Fawcett has so far refused to comment on this report, so stay tuned here for updates on this.
